Rod ends maintenance required

A rod end (DIN ISO 12240-4) is generally a standardised, ready-to-install machine element used for the transfer of static and dynamic forces in connection with swivelling, tilting and turning movements.

DURBAL offers two lines of maintenance required rod ends (Classic or Basic Line).

  • DURBAL Classic Line heavy-duty rod ends in accordance with DIN ISO 12240-4 consist of a housing with a pressed spherical plain bearing. These rod ends are maintenance-required.
The rod ends are available in the series K and E/EH. These DURBAL Classic Line rod ends in accordance with DIN ISO 8139 can also be combined with pneumatic cylinders.
The maintenance-required DURBAL rod ends of these series are primarily used in situations of alternating stresses or impact loads and are preferred in situations where swivelling movements are large. These rod ends are only suitable for certain rotational movements. The hard-chrome plated joint ball on series K moves on a bearing brass outer ring and the series E moves on a ball bearing steel outer ring and joint ball, which are hardened, ground and phosphated.
Mainly all sizes in this series consist of a forged part and tempered rod end housing. This makes these DURBAL rod ends extremely hardwearing. We also offer the maintenance-required rod ends series K in stainless steel.

  • DURBAL Basic Line standard-rod ends in accordance with DIN ISO 12240-4 consist of a heat-treated steel housing with a pressed spherical plain bearing. These rod ends are maintenance-required.
The rod ends are available in series K and E. These DURBAL Basic Line rod ends in accordance with DIN ISO 8139 can also be combined with pneumatic cylinders.
The series K rod ends of our Basic Line are suitable for use with axial loads and our series E are suitable for use with high alternating loads.
These standard products are distinguished by high precision and dependability as well as by an outstanding cost-benefit ratio.
